Joint Effort for Clean Public Transport
HyFLEET:CUTE Final Conference
Pressemitteilung von Hydrogeit
This is one reason why the final HyFLEET:CUTE Conference will also present insights and experiences from other projects’ players such as Jaimie Levin, Director of Alternative Fuels Policy and Marketing at AC Transit, California.
"I am really excited about participating in the HyFLEET CUTE Conference in Hamburg, and to share the significant progress we\'re making with fuel cell buses. Information exchange and global collaboration are essential to advance the goal of making hydrogen fuel cell technology in the transport sector commercially viable," Jaimie said.
AC Transit is leading a hydrogen fuel-cell demonstration project, a remarkable private-public partnership that has raised more than $73 million in grants to build and operate three hybrid-electric, hydrogen fuel cell buses, as well as a fleet of fuel cell passenger vehicles quietly and with zero emissions. Those vehicles have been powered with more than 50,000 kg of hydrogen produced by two onsite fueling stations. In 2010, 12 next-generation fuel cell buses will go into service, along with the commissioning of two new state-of-the-art fueling stations, one partly solar-powered, with a daily production capacity of more than 400 kg of hydrogen.
"AC Transit believes that Hydrogen fuel cell buses can put us on the path to a world without smog and dependence on oil imports. We have a vision of a cleaner, quieter future and see Hydrogen as our way to achieve that. AC Transit is planning on bringing its next-generation Hydrogen fuel cell buses into service this coming year, with the promise of proving to the transport industry and the world that a sustainable transportation future is close at hand."
At the HyFLEET:CUTE Final Conference there will be representatives from leading hydrogen projects around the world as well as the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory NREL.
Join in and meet all the people from leading projects around the world at the HyFLEET:CUTE Final Conference in Hamburg, Germany on Tuesday, 17th & Wednesday, 18th November 2009.
